Decks, fences, log homes, pergolas — protected and beautiful.
Stain isn't just a color — it's how the wood survives ten Michigan winters. We strip old failing finishes, sand to bare wood when needed, and apply penetrating stains that flex with the wood instead of peeling off.
All inclusive — prep, paint, cleanup. Same flat-rate pricing across Mid-Michigan.
Power-wash, brightener treatment, sand if needed, two coats of semi-transparent or solid stain. Brushed into the grain, not just sprayed and walked away.
Sprayed and back-brushed for even coverage. We can transform a weathered cedar fence in a single weekend.
Specialized log-home stains and chinking. We'll point out any rot or insect damage before it gets coated.
The decorative stuff people forget about until it starts to gray. Same prep standards, scaled to the surface.
We bring deck & wood staining to towns throughout Mid-Michigan:
Stain on horizontal surfaces — paint will peel under foot traffic and freeze-thaw. Solid stain is the closest you can get to paint while still penetrating the wood. We'll recommend based on the wood condition.
Semi-transparent stains typically need refreshing every 2–3 years on a sunny deck, 4–5 years if it's shaded. Solid stains last longer but are harder to refresh — they often need stripping.
Yes — peeling means the previous finish failed at the bond layer. We strip it back to bare wood with chemical strippers and a careful sand, then start over with a stain that's right for the species.
Yes, but it has to dry first. Brand-new pressure-treated lumber needs 30–90 days of dry weather before it'll accept stain. We'll do a moisture-meter check before recommending a start date.
